The Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock Centre (NASC) belongs to an inernational group of Arabidopsis Resource Centres which include the European DNA Stock Center at the Max Delbruck Laboratorium, Koln Germany and the combined DNA and Seed Stock Center (Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center [ABRC]) at Ohio State University, USA. NASC mamtamr. over eight thousand unique lines, including hormone, flowering, biochemical, colour, form mutants, visible mutants from T-DNA transformed lines, Ds transformed lines and ecotypes. We also stock uncharacterised pools of material from 4900 T-DNA transformed lines, to be used to screen for new mutants. For mapping purposes multiple marker lines and recombinant inbred lines are also available. All of these stocks are available free of charge to the research and academic community Full details of stock information are published annually as a hard copy Seed List, or are available electronically through AATDB and the AATDB Research Companion Gopher server, currently corated by John Morris at MGH Boston, USA. Our most up to date stock information can be accessed through the World Wide Web (WWW) server at NASC. Here it is possible to browse and query the stock list, register with the Centre, ask questions, or place orders all from within the server. Through a collaboration with Doug Bigwood, this server is linked to a WWW version of AATDB, held at NAL, which allows ordering to NASC to occur from within AATDB. All our stock information is also carried in AIMS which has been developed by Sakti Pramanik as part of the ABRC project. Stock orders can be placed by mail, telephone, fax, e mail, through the WWW and AIMS. Further details about NASC holdings and how to access information will be given at the poster. NASC is funded by the BBSRC, EC and Nottingham University.
