ORGANISM STRAIN:
Phytophthora sojae and Phytophthora infestans

BRIEF SUMMARY OF SEQUENCING STRATEGIES:
We will sequence cDNAs (ESTs) from various axenic and infection tissues. Post-cloning subtraction strategies will be used to enrich for new sequences. Subtraction and positive selection will be used to enrich for pathogen sequences in infection libraries. EST clones will be matched to a BAC library by a novel PCR-based matching procedure called BEST-MAP.

TIMELINE FOR COMPLETION:

PLAN FOR MAINTENANCE & DISTRIBUTION OF REAGENTS:
EST clones stored at originating labs and a duplicate at NCState. P. sojae clones will be distributed form UC Davis. P. infestans EST clones will be distributed from UC Riverside. Supplier labs will pay for preparation of materials. Requestors will pay shipping.
