Lawsonia intracellularis NCTC 12657

BRIEF SUMMARY OF SEQUENCING STRATEGIES:
A random shotgun library is being prepared of the genome in plasmid vectors and > 8x coverage will be achieved. The individual sequence fragments will be assembled with phredPhrap and Consed. The contigs will be assembled through a combination of primer walking and PCR-based approaches. Annotation will be performed with the assistance of the computer program Artemis.

• B. Frequency of Data Release & Updates: At least bi-weekly or after 3000 additional reads have been generated and assembled.

TIMELINE FOR COMPLETION:

• A. Start date: September, 2000
• B. Anticipated completion date: December, 2001 for final sequence assembly and annotation
• C. Milestones:
  • Library Preparation and validation: March of 2001
  • Completion of random shotgun phase: May of 2001
  • Final Assembly, November 2001
  • Annotation of sequence: January, 2002

PLAN FOR MAINTENANCE & DISTRIBUTION OF REAGENTS:
Assembled contigs will be made available for search on our web-site. Final sequence will be deposited in GenBank.
