Agricultural Microbes Genome 2 poster abstracts will be available for browsing and searching on the Internet on December 17, 2000. This will provide us some time to organize abstract submissions. All previous AMG meeting paper/poster abstracts have also been indexed for convenient searching from the web site.
See below for details. Please note:

IMPORTANT
Please do NOT submit a paper form for your abstract if you have

may also save yourself some time.
STARTING IN AUGUST 2000, send a mail message to amg2form@www.ag-microbial.org- a blank form will be returned by e-mail. The message does not need a subject or a body. Fill out the form following the instructions included with the form. Send the completed electronic form to amg2abstracts@www.ag-microbial.org. To submit via the WWW browser: Point your browser to: http://www.ag-microbial.org and follow the instructions.
Please be advised that all accepted abstracts are considered public information and by submiting an abstract you agree to give the conference a license to put the abstract up on the conference web site.
FORMAT
Title in Capitals, Author(s) name (surname, first name) and affiliation in upper and lower case. If multiple authors, please underline the Presenting Author's name(s). Multiple presenting authors are ONLY for poster abstracts (categories 1-5). Single space all typing. The text of the abstract should be a single paragraph starting with a three (3) space indentation. Do NOT use a dot matrix printer. Do NOT send the abstract by FAX, we MUST receive the original.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts for the poster session either in hard copy (printed form) or by e-mail (see below for details). The abstract forms will have a set of categories to assure your poster talk is properly handled. The printed abstract forms will be available by the summer of 2000 from Scherago International, however electronic submissions are much preferred and easier. This year we have added some suggestions and guidelines for those who will present posters, as well as those who will give talks in the sessions and at the workshops.
Authors of abstract papers are encouraged to submit full length scientific manuscripts to the new all-electronic journal Journal of Agricultural Genomics (JAG). There are 3 editors of JAG, Thomas Blake, Montana State University (correspondence person), Bill Beavis (National Center for Genome Resources), and Rebecca W. Doerge (Purdue University). JAG is the official journal of the Agricultural Microbes Genome meeting.
JAG provides a peer-reviewed, fully electronic forum for articles dealing with all aspects of genome research pertaining to agricultural systems. JAG is hosted by the National Center for Genome Resources in Santa Fe, NM. The publication format facilitates links to related publications and databases, and permits the inclusion of complete image libraries, animations, multi-media data, large datasets and more thorough analyses than is generally feasible in bound media. Improved publication speed, easy and free access should make JAG a preferred journal for the publication of papers dealing with all aspects of agricultural genome research.
This year all posters will be up the entire length of the meeting. Posters need to be taken down by 1:00 pm on Friday afternoon this year. Those presenting posters this year need only be at their posters one day this year - Thursday afternoon.
All abstracts will be reviewed by members of the organizing committee. The normal review turn-around time will be within two - three weeks after the receipt deadline (October 13, 2000) for the meeting abstracts. This year all abstracts should be submitted online, but communications can be mailed to AMG-2 Abstracts, USDA ARS, 800 Buchanan Street, Albany, CA 94710 USA. You will be notified of the acceptance of your abstract(s).
