BAC libraries are a critical tool in genomics research. These libraries form the foundation for constructing physical maps, genome sequencing and cloning genes of interest. Amplicon Express specializes in the construction and utilization of BAC libraries to answer the questions of the research community. Recently, we have constructed high quality BAC libraries from a number of very different organisms that include rainbow trout, mouse, sunflower, human, intracellular pathogens, a primitive protochordate and a previously unidentified bacterium isolated from a deep sea thermal vent. In the last few months alone, we robotically picked and arrayed over half a million BAC clones with inserts ranging from 110 to 210 kbp, printed nylon filters for hybridization studies and generated millions of bases of DNA sequence. In addition, Amplicon Express makes BAC library pools and superpools and provides screening services to identify clones that harbor specific genes. This poster depicts just a few of the specialized technologies we apply toward genomics research. Amplicon Express is an international company with clients in academia, biotech and the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to genomics, we specialize in all facets of DNA cloning, random shotgun library construction, cDNA library construction, protein expression and purification.
