The Mouse Genome Database (MGD), http://www.informatics.jax.org, is a comprehensive database of mouse genetic, genomic, and biological information maintained by the Mouse Genome Informatics Group at the Jackson Laboratory. MGD contains information on genetic loci with standardized nomenclature, extensive sequence links to other databases, summary phenotypic/functional information, maps and mapping data, orthologous relationships between mouse genes and those of other mammalian species, inbred strain and polymorphism information, and annual Mouse Chromosome Committee Reports. To date, information on more than 10,000 genes, 25,000 loci, and 58,000 references are represented in MGD. Data are searchable through an array of web forms and may be displayed in a variety of tabular and graphical formats. The database continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of the research community. Supported by NIH Grant HG00330.
