The USDA-ARS genome database services previously offered at the Agricultural Genome Information Server (AGIS) in Beltsville MD have now been moved to "Demeter's Genomes" in Ithaca NY, http://ars-genome.cornell.edu/. As before, the server carries a complete set of crop genome databases, plus plantwide databases of gene families and gene nomenclature, botanical databases, and genome databases for model organisms such as Arabidopsis and C. elegans. The server has been enhanced to improve the user interface, including upgrades of the Webace software and addition of AceBrowser as an alternative. The underlying database engine continues to be ACEDB. A mechanism is available for retrieving or creating stable links to all records in the databases that cite a standard accession number (e.g. Genbank ID). Requests from users for additional desirable services are solicited.
