Barley alleledb- A DATABASE FOR SNP DEVELOPMENT

Our laboratory specialized in converting RFLP probes to their STS derivatives. During the past year, we've begun characterizing sequences of allelic PCR products using an array of barley varieties representing the common barley germplasm groups. We began generating fluorescent SNP allele detection systems as these well-characterized mutations were made available. Managing the data for this enterprise has proven both challenging and interesting. This presentation shows our first attempt to develop a comprehensive, reasonably intuitive database of alleles.
