We developed and maintain the databases describing the transcriptional regulatory regions of plant genes and gene interactions. Gene networks that provide the regulation of physiological processes are the basic feature of organisms. The object-oriented database GeneNet is a tool for gene networks and its automated visualization. The database collects the data on gene interactions. Diagrams devoted to embryo nutrition during seed germination and seed storage proteins biosynthesis have been recently added. The GenNet format allows to describe the ways of signal transduction, stimuli, receptors, polypeptide cellular location, its status (mono- or multimer) and modifications (phosphorylated/dephosphorylated) in relation to specific activity.GeneNet is available at GeneNetThe information contained in the PLANT-TRRD was used for their formalized description.Plant-TRRD is a specialized section of the Transcription Regulatory Region Database containing the data on plant promoter regions (Kolchanov NA. et al.,1999, Nucleic Acids Res Jan 1;27(1):303-6. ). 95 plant gene promoters have been collected to date. The TRRD database contains a general description of genes, description of expression patterns, description of sites and transcription factors. The information comes from reviewing original publications. The PLANT-TRRD database is available at: PLANT-TRRDThe integration of PLANT-TRRD database and computer systems for studying eukaryotic gene expression is a way for creation of plant gene knowledge base.
