CAJ: NEW FEATURE OF Eudejas - AN IMAGE DATABASE FOR PLANT CHROMOSOMES

The CAJ provides image information on cytogenetic studies. Image information such as karyotypes, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) data has special importance in cytogenetic studies and discussions. We developed a model system of chromosome image information database as a part of Eudejas to provide a forum for plant cytogeneticist community. The CAJ data contain chromosome images, taxonomic and methodlogical descriptions, bibliography and the reporters' information. This system consists of a search engine server and decentralized image servers. The reporter can provide their image data for the database through their own server computers. We are continuing to develop Eudejas as an integrated database system for chromosome information. The CAJ is accessible through the Eudejas web site at http://133.1.131.81/Eudejas/.
