The ISPMB is again sponsoring plant genome student travel grant awards of $ 400 each. This year there will be three (3) travel grants. For details please contact Dr. Susan McCouch by e-mail (srm4@cornell.edu). The deadline for applying for these ISPMB travel grants is 1 October 1998. The ISPMB student travel grants will be presented at the Wednesday evening dinner. All students who receive travel grant awards will also receive their registration fee paid for by Scherago International.
Partial funding ($300 travel award and complimentary registration from
Scherago International) for graduate student (not postdoc)
travel to PAG-VII is available.
Interested graduate students
should contact the relevant Species Coordinator
(pig, cattle, sheep, poultry, or (tentative) horse).

For PAG-VII Scherago International again is sponsoring the Jerome P. Miksche travel grant award. This award is for one travel grant award of $1000 to an international plant genome researcher who has NOT previously attended a PAG meeting. Applicants must submit a poster paper and one letter of recommendation from your department/office in order to be considered for this award. The application deadline is 1 September, 1998. Nomura Foundation Travel Awards for Aquaculture
The Nomura Foundation has provided funds to assist the travel of graduate students and first-year postdocs (Ph.D. received after Oct. 16, 1997) to the Aquaculture Workshop. To apply, submit an abstract for a poster presentation via the PAG WWW site. All abstracts MUST be submitted directly to the meeting organizers. Then send a COPY of the abstract to Thomas D. Kocher, or fill in the on-line Nomura Foundation Travel Grant Application Form, together with a letter describing why you wish to be considered for a Nomura award. Four winners will each receive US $500, and will be expected to give a 15-minute oral presentation in the Aquaculture Workshop on Sunday, January 17. Notification will be after the abstract deadline of 16 October 1998.
