CD-ROM FOR RICEMAC AND RICEWIN, MACINTOSH AND WIN95 VERSIONS OF RICEGENES

For personal use in stand-alone mode of database Ricegenes, a rice specific ACEDB database operating under unix system, RiceMac and RiceWin, a Macintosh and a Win95 versions of Ricegenes, have been ported. RiceMac based on MacAce program for the PowerMac requires at least 30 MB of memory which can be expanded with virtual memory, while RiceWin based on WinAce program requires Windows95 with 16MB RAM. Both programs are available in two formats, compressed format and CD-ROM format. The compressed format is stuffed as self-extracted file and will be automatically extracted with execution. The compressed formats can be downloaded at the ftp site of Korea Rice Genome Network (http://bioserver.myongji.ac.kr) and NAL, USDA. The hybrid 2XCD-ROM which containing RiceMac and RiceWin is available with free of charge upon written request. The current version of both program is 4.5.2.
