PG-II: ARABIDOPSIS WORKSHOP, TUES JAN 25TH 3:30-6:00PM
ARABIDOPSIS WORKSHOP, TUES JAN 25TH 3:30-6:00PM
Organizer: Caroline Dean, John Innes Centre, Norwich, UK.
Six speakers will each give a 15 minute presentation on
various aspects of genome analysis in Arabidopsis. There will be
10 minutes after each talk which should ensure plenty of
discussion time. The topics covered range from the description
of a large number of new Arabidopsis markers (AFLP-amplified
fragment length polymorphism) mapped using one set of
Arabidopsis recombinant inbred lines (Dr Marc Zabeau), the
current status of cosmid and YAC contig coverage of the
Arabidopsis genome (Drs Howard Goodman and Caroline Dean),
description of a new Arabidopsis YAC library with an average
insert size of 4OOkb (Dr David Bouchez) and the current status of
the French effort in partial sequencing of a large number of
Arabidopsis cDNAs (Dr Michel Delseny). In addition, Dr Ken
Feldmann will describe his group's efforts to identify T-DNA
insertions into specific genomic sequences. The workshop is
designed to highlight key topics in the area of genome analysis
in Arabidopsis and illustrate future directions of the project.
