Adaptive trait and wood quality related genes were resequenced in four closely related Southern pines (genus Pinus, subsection Australes): loblolly pine (Pinus taeda), slash pine (P. elliottii), shortleaf pine (P. echinata), and longleaf pine (P. palustris). Their phylogenetic relationships were analyzed, and nucleotide sequences were studied for signatures of selection.
