Model Organism Databases and Community Annotation

Organizer: Eva Huala, Stanford University

(huala@acoma.stanford.edu)

Curators from various model organism databases (MODs) will talk about different methods of incorporating and curating community annotations. They will discuss the types of data accepted in their respective databases as well as new approaches used to encourage the scientific community to submit their data. Specific examples of recently submitted datasets will be used to illustrate the various steps involved in analyzing the data before making it publicly available on the MOD websites. This workshop will hopefully spark a dialogue between curators and scientists on how to make this process more efficient on both ends.
