Workshop Title: Protein Microarrays: Approaches to Printing

Speaker:

Steven Suchyta, PhD
Field Application Scientist, Genomic Solutions, Inc.

Protein microarrays offer the ability to measure protein expression and antibody binding in a high-throughput and miniaturized manner. High precision instrumentation allows for automation of the protein microarray workflow. This talk will cover usage of the Genomic Solutions Inc. suite of microarray instrumentation for printing protein microarrays on nitrocellulose coated slides and in microtiter plates. If multiplexed arrays are to be used for clinical diagnostics the quality of the plate and the plate imager are also critical. We have found that the use of Schott-Nexterion's protein array plates and Alpha Innotech's Novaray reader gives consistent high quality protein array data.
