Introduction to the Coordinating Committee on Plant Breeding Workshop - Terrace Salon 3

In recent decades, the U.S. national vision for agricultural research has concentrated on creating opportunities for basic research. Return on investment in basic research will require a robust national plant breeding capacity. The Plant Breeding CC will link plant breeders, now separated across different scientific societies, and provide a focal point for developing strategies and leadership to address issues, constraints, and opportunities of long-term importance to the U.S. national plant breeding effort. The Plant Breeding CC will include both public and private sector plant breeders.
