Welcome to the draft program for the Plant & Animal
Genome XII conference.
Details of the last meeting, PAG-XI, can be found on the
PAG-XI Home Page.
The abstracts from all the previous eleven meetings are available via
the Internet on this computer system:
The abstracts from these past meetings appear on the menu and have been
indexed for convenient
searching.
Abstracts for the PAG-XII meeting will be available one month prior to
the start of the PAG-XII meeting. The abstracts will be released on 10
December
2003 and can be found by clicking here.
Based on ongoing and very helpful feedback from participants, the organization and
structure of
the PAG-XII has again been slightly changed and improved. This home page
for the meeting is an overview of the main parts of the meeting. The
PAG Table of Contents now links to the information about the meeting
and its various parts (e.g, workshops, sessions, travel grants, and so
on). This page will only contain an overview of the meeting.
The Organizing Committee would like to thank all those participants
of the PAG-XI meeting who took the time to fill out the conference
evaluation form. PAG-XII will again have the main lecture
room that easily seats well over 2000 people and we will
have even larger rooms for all workshop leaders that request
the additional space. At PAG-XI there were over 1800 attendees (excluding
exhibitors) and PAG-XII is expected to have an attendance of over 2000.
Meeting Overview:
The main changes from last year that are being
continued is that the meeting will start on Saturday, the banquet will
continue to be held on Wednesday evening, and the poster sessions will be held
in conjunction with the receptions. Posters will be put up starting on Saturday
morning, giving attendees ample time to view the posters. Again there will be
just a few (nine) plenary lectures, with a change that there will not
be separate, parallel plant and animal sessions. There will be three (3) main
plenary lectures each morning.
The current schedule for PAG-XII is that there will be some 70+ workshop and
vendor presentations as well as the usual computer program demonstrations. New workshops
for PAG-XII include Proteomics, QTL Cloning, Challenge Program: Unlocking Crop Genetic
Diversity for the Poor, Interagency Working Group (IWG) on Plant Genomics, and
Reduced-Representation Sequencing Methods and Applications.
Again the organizers will pass out evaluation forms towards the end of
the meeting for particpants to fill out. This year the form is again
on the web so you may send in your comments and evaluation after you get
home. The form is available by
clicking here.
