At CIP a Java program was developed to assist in the production of high quality genomic maps. IntiMap allows simultaneous display of various marker based genomic maps. It provides also a graphical user interface to an external DOS program for selective genotyping. A similar interface is under development for association mapping. The program features additionally a re-implementation of a genetic algorithm for QTL determination. The program is highly customizable to produce high quality graphics. Export formats include JPEG, SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) and PDF. SVG is an XML based graphic standard that includes hyperlinking and compression in ZIP format. The program is used in the context of saturating existing maps of potato with new markers including candidate genes.
