In 1998, CUGI received 5 years of National Science Foundation funding to provide partial support of the CUGI BAC/EST Resource Center. The BAC/EST RC was created to provide affordable access to BAC and EST libraries, filters, clones and related technologies to the research community. The BAC/EST RC constructs, archives and distributes the largest collection of agriculturally related BAC libraries in the world. Our inventory presently includes 69 BAC/PAC/TAC libraries and 49 EST collections for a total of more than 7,000,000 clones. All inventory is publicly available and can be ordered through our on-line ordering system at www.genome.clemson.edu/orders. Data will be presented describing our newly developed BAC and EST collections, physical mapping and online ordering software.
